Biography

Mr. Manmohan Lal Sarin was born on November 24, 1948 at Shimla. He joined the Bar on Ist July 1971 and was designated as a Senior Advocate in March 1987. He was appointed Additional Advocate General, Punjab, from 20th July 1989 and continued up to 28th June 1990. He was appointed Advocate General, Punjab on 29th October 1991 and continued as such up to 10th March 1992 and again from 19th September 1995 to 26th November 1996. Sh. Sarin was also appointed as Advocate General, Haryana, on 20th November 1999 and remained as such up to 6th July 2000. Sh. Sarin was a Member of the Punjab and Haryana Bar Council from December 1975 to June 1983. He also remained as the Chairman, Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana, Special Committee, from Ist July 1996 to 3rd December 1996. He has bestowed the Award of "CHEVALIER des PALMES ACADEMICS" by the Government of France in 1999. He received 2 SAMMAN PATRAS for two successive years from the Income Tax Department for being the highest income tax payee in the professional category. Sh. Sarin has championed the cause of holding 'Blood donation' camps organized from time to time in the High Court premises and has donated blood 115 times. Sh. Sarin has authored and co-authored many books on law and is also the Editor of several Law Journals, like All India Rent Control Journal, Revenue Law Reporter.
