Biography
Born on 1st January 1924 in village Kosli, District Rohtak. He completed schooling and shifted to New Delhi to complete his graduation from St. Stephens College, whereafter he completed his degree of law from the University of Delhi. Soon, he joined as Deputy Secretary, Central Secretariat, New Delhi but within six months, he resigned and the lawyer in him, took him back to his native district Rohtak, Haryana to begin his legal practice and had a flourishing law practice as a criminal lawyer. Thereafter, in the year 1957, he contested the election for a member of the legislative assembly from the Hassangarh assembly segment and continued to be very active in social service. He began his legal practice in the Punjab and Haryana High Court at Chandigarh in the year 1962. He was a part-time Professor in the Department of Laws, Punjab University, Chandigarh. He was designated as Senior Advocate and was appointed as Advocate General, Haryana in the year 1979, a post which he held till 12th November 1981. He was known as a man of conviction who never compromised on his principles. He was instrumental in being a member of the specially constituted Board by the High Court, in the selection of 34 subordinate Judges and various District Attorneys. Even though he is no longer in this physical world ever since 2nd September 2006, he is always quoted as a benchmark in the High Court for his principles, honesty, and integrity and shall always be remembered for his contribution in the field of law and for giving his name to the august office of Advocate General, Haryana.
